Growth Matters International launched its series of global Chalk and Talk events for 2026, with an event hosted in London on the 18th of February. The Chalk & Talk is set up to be a no nonsense, engaging and dynamic discussion forum. It is not a sales pitch, there are no slides but rather impulse driven, honest and hard-hitting dialogue. Those present are encouraged to ask questions and challenge the floor.
A Dynamic and Interactive Session
Value generation and realisation? was the title of the session. Questions such as How do we create customer value? Why does value generation often breakdown between strategy and execution? Understanding the value gap between expectation and actual experience and many more were posted to the audience and discussed in a very vibrant way.
I was truly interesting to experience and listen to various real-life examples of what has worked and what not and why. I am convinced that every participant left the Chalk & Talk with several golden nuggets they can take away and try out in their own organisations
At the Sustainable Ventures, London venue Speakers Alan Verteeg ,Co-founder and CRO, of Growth Matters International challenged the audience on several fronts such as:
- The difference between perception and reality when it comes to value generation?
- How frequently are we sharing insights the drive greater value? - How clearly do we understand our customers strategic priorities and desired outcomes?
- How effectively are we aligning customer goals with ours to achieve shared outcomes?
Growth Matters defines the role of a Sales Leader as someone who must hit the number by executing the sales strategy, through his/her people and at the same time generate customer value. Without generating value, proving it time and time again, collecting feedback and executing on that feedback customers will not return to buy again, and they will not be advocates of your products or services.
All the participants left the Chalk & Talk with a number of Value Gap oriented questions and a Value Gap Action Plan that they can implement and use in their own organisations.
Key Takeaways and Actionable Insights
The value of Chalk and Talk lies in the open exchange of insights among experienced sales leaders. Some of the key takeaways from the session included:
· Have we identified areas where we may be falling short in terms of our service delivery?.
· Are we aligning our solutions with the customers strategic objectives effectively?
· Do we really measure the impact of our insights on delivered value?
· Are we actively assessing the customers challenges to stay up to date?
Looking Ahead: The next Chalk & Talk is still to be announced
The overwhelming engagement and positive feedback from this event confirms the need for more high-impact sales leadership conversations. Growth Matters International is committed to fostering these discussions, and we are look forward to the next Chalk and Talk (still to be defined) While the topic is yet to be confirmed, we promise another dynamic and insightful session aimed at empowering sales leaders.
